I have owned 3M WorkTunes Wireless Hearing Protector with Bluetooth Technology and AM/FM Digital Radio (90542-3DC) since May 2016.
You will eventually need replacement ear pads, mine lasted a year or so with heavy use. I looked here and at 3M's site for replacement ear pads but could not find the part number so I called 3M 1-888-364-3577 and was offered complimentary replacements free of charge shipped to my door. I asked for the part number assuming next time I would be on my own but was told 3M does not sell them however they will always send replacement ear pads free of charge. Works for me. Poke your finger in through the inside hole of the earpad, get your finger behind the black plastic ring, and gently snap it out. The earpad is attached to the black plastic ring and it snaps on and off.
Great service from 3M and worktunes are a decent product imo that gets the job done but needs some improvement from the bluetooth side of things which is how I use these.
I frequently work with loud tools and equipment such as circ saws, miter saws, chainsaws, lawn equipment, table saw, too many more to list. I listen to podcasts while I work so my worktunes are always connected to my phone via bluetooth. The hearing protection is outstanding and I can go full throttle with my husqvarna 350 while listening to whatever provided the volume output from my phone is 100% which I then adjust the volume from there on the worktunes, and the worktunes are adjusted properly so that the earpads are sealing flat to your head over your ears.
Worktunes are far better than earbuds for listening to what you want to hear over a loud tool, but if you use bluetooth from your phone earbuds with a mic make it far easier to make and receive phone calls. There is no mic on these 3M worktunes. Get a phone call while your worktunes are connected to your phone via bluetooth and things get tricky, it's a pita and best to avoid trying to answer. Here's what happens: the worktunes go silent, you have to grab your phone to see who it is and if you answer it you listen through the worktunes and speak into the phone, if you hit speakerphone accidentally or the other person can't hear you then you're ripping the worktunes off your head. My earbuds that have a mic can answer and end a call with the push of a button on them, beforehand the phone number is called out so I can decide whether or not to answer, it's dead simple and it could be that way for these worktunes if they had a mic, the worktunes already have plenty of butttons. Too many and in the wrong places.
Whoever decided to place the power/volume/go back to beginning button where it sits on the left side front needs to spend a few days with the people this product was designed for. The name of the product is WORKtunes which in itself implies the user will be working with something that is loud and presumably heavy. Those of us that have rough hands know all too well that weilding heavy objects leads to profuse sweating and we sometimes turn our heads and wipe the sweat from our brow on our shirt sleeve. I accidentally hit that button that sticks out a mile at least a few times a day and it resets whatever I'm listening to to the beginning of the track. If I don't accidentally press that button something I'm working around will. I rarely hit my head at work but these monsters seem to make your head twice as big, you might even be tempted to fly a helicopter with these on.
I use rechargeable batteries and reliably get at least a full day, usually 2-3 days of use.
If the bluetooth fails to connect even after it's paired or you walk out of range and lose connection things can sometimes get squirrely to reconnect. It gets frustrating but the procedure that always works done in this order: is to turn off the work tunes, turn off your phone, turn phone back on make sure bluetooth is on, then turn on the worktunes and it should connect itself but you may have to go into bluetooth settings on your phone and manually connect to worktunes.
All that said learning the quirks of using these has been worth it to me. I reach for them when it's time to do some busy work with loud tools, definitely for the hearing protection. I like the fact these 3M worktunes have user replaceable batteries, that 3M sends out replacement earpads free of charge, and that I can connect to my phone through bluetooth for wireless convenience.
You pays your money and you takes your choice.
Obviously, if I am buying hearing protection, I am responsible enough to control the volume of music playing in my ear.
Why in the .. why would you ruin these headphones by adding in a volume limit like this?
At least give me the option to crank it up when the right song is on, or when I definitely don't want to hear a grinder or saw through the protection at roughly the same level as I do the song that I wish I was hearing louder.
Sigh.. Guess I'll add some bluetooth headphones to my other hearing protection.
The radio tunes well enough. The buttons are too hard to hit with hefty gloves on, and I hit them all the time on accident because they are large.
These are awesome. Surprisingly good sound quality, batteries last forever, super comfy, durable, easy to use even with heavy gloves on. What more could you ask for? The best protective equipment is the stuff you're not itching to take off the moment you're done with the tool, right? The less you WANT to wear something, the more likely you are to neglect wearing it when you should. These... These I'd like to leave on just about all the time. Podcasts and music while mowing the lawn? yes please. Run the table saw and/or compressor without missing a beat? yup. And I have worn them for 6+ hours without getting a headache, itchy, or any other form of uncomfortable.
EDIT/UPDATE . April 3 2018 My Worktunes Bluetooth stopped working. AM and FM worked fine, the announcer stated that it had switched to BT but it wouldn't pair or play. None of my devices could see the Worktunes either. I emailed their customer support and with a few questions, they sent me a shipping label, I mailed off my headset and was told they'd either repair or replace them since I was inside the warranty period. I got a notice that they sent out a new pair for me! No charge even for shipping. 3M customer service made a very disappointing situation into an EXCELLENT one. I love my headset and I am now a big fan of 3M's customer service as well.

STILL FANTASTIC. These are quite a bit worse for wear now. Thankfully the pads are all replaceable as they finally wore out. But the important parts are still working great. No troubles with BT or radio, good battery life, solid sound, and great dampening. They’ve been left out in the rain and sun way too many times and they live in an unconditioned detached garage so they’ve dealt with cold and heat and I still use them regularly. Fantastic investment.
I really wanted this product to work. I spend plenty of time working in the yard with power tools and on my lawn mower that I was hoping to get a nice quality headset, but this just has so many issues. I even went all in and bought the rechargeable battery, wanting it to be great. But in the end, it was very disappointing.
First off - it's not loud enough. They say it's hearing protection - but the volume is VERY low on this headset.
Next up - radio reception - it's TERRIBLE. I can barely pickup radio stations. It's worse than my alarm clock, and I didnt think that was possible!
But I didn't buy it for the FM and AM Radio, I bought it for bluetooth. So I can play my music through my phone.
I tested with an iPhone 8 and a Galaxy 9.
BOTH of these phones work great with the other bluetooth devices I have. headphones and speakers.
But this headset was constantly crackling and breaking up and having issues with music playback. It was terrible.
Lastly is the fit. The adjustment mechanism for the ear cups is terrible. It's VERY hard to adjust them and get a good fit.
Overall - this is a very poorly thought out product with very low quality electronics inside.

We needed a way to monitor the FM signal at our church drive-in during setup. These worked fine. The best feature of this gizmo for our application is that it's hand's free. They plug in with a provided 3.5mm plug. Nice. I wouldn't use them to regularly listen to music. Cheap. But that's why we bought them.
I always wear headphones when I'm mowing and weed eating and this is the one pair that had great reception and great volumn. I had to order my husband one too 😀
This is horrible packaging, received in a torn bag. Sound quality is bad. Definitely would not recommend, I bought for my dad.
This is my second purchase of this item. There was nothing wrong with the first pair except one thing they cannot overcome is being ripped to pieces by the house dog. Didn't like the Radio Station I guess. The second pair works as well, if not better than the first; I am only assuming this as the dog has not ripped this pair to little plastic and obviously, more digestible bits yet. Good headphones for listening old fashioned AM/FM
