This unit, essentially, is capable of what it was designed for......but there are some serious flaws. First, the ptt button can only be attached to velcro.....which limits its options for securing and makes it very difficult to use without full tactical gear. The idea of having the button strapped to you finger while the radio is elsewhere on your person and the mic band is on your neck........cannot ever work. Just forget about that setup. Next is the mic and band....nowhere near sensitive enough to pick up low volume speech which is a failure for any situation where the goal is not to announce your communications......which is the ONLY reason to even wear a setup like this. Finally is the most epic failure in speaker tech I have ever seen. Yes, the bud in your ear produces loud, clear audio........but at any volume the speaker in the neck band produces far more audio and can be heard across the room with ease even at lower volume. Basically if your using this to talk to your kids while in the yard or camping your fine........if you use it while hunting, paintballing, playing airsoft or gods forbid any actual tactical situation it will without a doubt blow your cover and fail your objective........deer will bolt.....enemy team will detect you......you will be made. Period. This is going in a bag and getting labelled "last resort".
These worked amazing I use them to keep in contact with my daughter while she was riding her ATV and it makes it very easy and safe for her to talk to communicate with me.
