I work in the headset industry, the kind you use a thousand times every day in call centers. The boom mic goes up and down all day for a year or two before you might run into a loose wire.

I bought two of these for my husband as a birthday present. I said "Be gentle with it, because some reviewers are saying that it can fall apart." He said "of course I will be." Just then he gently pushed the boom mic forward, the boom just snapped. There is no give at the joint, it would be almost impossible not to break it, it should be rubber back to the joint on a pivot, it is hard plastic, and brittle. There is no pivot.

This is a bad design and likely not tested. My company puts our boom mics through thousands of tests, with a robotic arm. For this Walker product to break on the first time it is pulled forward is a real disappointment. We have three of the headsets and were looking forward to this addition. Sadly, sending both back tomorrow, not even opening the second set.
Mic. Broken at base not once but on two different replacements, also the digital display was malfunctioning. So had to replace it 3 times. Giving it one more chance then returning everything.
I ignored the other reviews of how poor this was built because the concept of this is great. Mine came out of the box broken and the second one isn’t open yet but I can see it’s also broken. I don’t recommend this until they change their design
Danger... VERY loud beep at beginning and end of transmission. Ironic that a device to protect hearing delivers an ear splitting beep. Customer service choosing to ignore me. VERY DISAPPOINTED
Bought both the Razor headsets and the walkie attachment. Bought these specifically for the VOX feature so my wife and I could talk while in our UTV. Regardless if we are in a quiet environment or in the UTV they do not work. By the time it recognizes you are talking you could have read half this review.

I did receive my order as promised. Upon opening the package and attaching it to my walker slim, I noticed that the base of the microphone was wobbly, upon further inspection, it was broken and cheaply secured. I wouldn't recommend this for any heavy use. If you keep moving the microphone up and down, I see it breaking easily. Nice concept though if the microphone assembly wasn't cheaply secured. I am keeping them though. I might try some type of super glue to see if it holds.
It's a little spotty on transmissions but gets the job done. Not sure if it's the unit or I'm just expecting too much from this product.
Just got my set in today. Works off of GMRS systems, so it compatible with other radios.
I will say on VOX, even on low will pick up range noise. To be seen what the actual range is. But as the title says, Ive been looking for something like this for some time.
