I've used various two-way radios over the years, and have found some really good ones and some really bad ones. Let me start off from the beginning saying that these are excellent radios. While many two-way radios on the market today are pretty much all alike and clones of each other, the SAMCOM FPCN30A is not only solid, but has features found on no other radios. The one feature I am excited about the most in using this radio is the ease of contacting any of my SAMCOM radios, even though everyone else is using different channels. The group button on these radios automatically sends out your voice to any similar radios programmed with the same frequencies, no matter what channel they are using. For instance, if Team 1 is using Channel 2, and Team 3 is using Channel 8, while administrators are on Channel 12, you can transmit with the easy-to-press GROUP button, and everyone in your fleet will hear your message on the designated group channel, no matter what channel they are using. This feature is easy to program with any frequency, channel and subaudible code. This is a feature found only on radios that often cost hundreds and thousands of dollars. Communications are crystal clear for considerable distances, depending on your terrain. These radios also offer voice-inversion encryption, which can be programmed via the software and enabled in the radio's menu. This allows you to switch back and forth between clear and encrypted communications with ease. Other easy functions include low or high power, subaudible or digital code and more. I'm still amazed at how well the group call function works much like that on radios costing many more times the amount of these SAMCOM units. These radios would be good for use at large-scale events where up to 19 teams can have their own channels while the 20th channel becomes your GROUP calling channel, ready to find anyone on any team without switching channels!
I am head of security for a club and many years ago we used Kenwood radios and when they all died on us we went to a cheaper radio and working in a club with the crowd and music we found cheap wasn't best, no one could hear each other and saying what all the time which in our line of work is very dangerous so I tossed them and bought the Samcom radios 1 for the price and 2 for all the features they offer on these radios, I was scared at first I was buying more junk but I was quickly proven wrong when we set them up with all the features these radios have and by far these are better than the Kenwoods we had we can talk back and forth during the loud music and can still hear what's being said crystal clear and they have a great range on them, these radios were well worth every cent we paid for them and when we need more I know what I'm ordering, my guys even thanked me for the new radios and even the owner was impressed with them. If your looking for good radios with features to cancel out noise and squelch control and built very well then buy these Samcom radios!!!!
I bought these because we work in buildings that have little to no cell service. We repair and service elevators and need to be able to communicate properly. I've been able to use this in a 26 story building down to the basement with no problems.
These things have terrible range. Won’t even go to the end of my street, which is only 1/4 mile from my doorstep. I even added an extended antenna to them for extra range. Still barely get 3 blocks of range out of them. Easy to use radios, but they just don’t have the range. Might need to have the reprogrammed or something. Just not what I expected at all. Get better range off my cheap hunting radios. Just disappointed overall
I have been looking for a 5 watt radio solution for business and personal use for a few years now.
The radios are constructed very well and durable.
They were very easy to assemble and fully charged mush faster than I anticipated.
I have only tested the radios up to about a mile so far and the performance was unlike any radio I have found available for civilian use.
It is important to follow the charging and discharging instructions as doing so will greatly improve the performance and life of the battery.
The only thing negative I can really say is draining the battery is taking much longer than I expected, which really a good thing.
Under 200 dollars for 3 heavy duty and reliable radios is the best price I have ever seen.
Similar Law enforcement radios start in the 500-600 dollar range for a basic radio.

We've had the walkies for a couple of weeks now but haven't had a chance to use them on a hike or anywhere near a forest or mountains. But we've tested them in our neighborhood with lots of houses acting as interference and the range is impressive with crystal clear audio. I'd estimate that there was about 3/4 of a mile distance between each hand held radio and it sounded like we were speaking to each other face to face. So far, we're very happy with this purchase.
They arrived in 2 days as promised. We got them for our construction crew to use on the job site. 3 track hoe operators, a dozer, high lift, 2 track truck operators, and the superintendent. After the initial charge we used them for 4 days before needing to recharge. They are clear as a bell, loud enough to hear and can talk from one end of the job site to the other. The sup ran into town for parts and the guys radioed him for another part and that was over 4 miles away ! Look and seem to be very heavy duty ! So far we are very pleased with them and will be buying more. These are not toys ! We also bought the gang charger and it worked great.
I purchased these for my business, and initially bought the six pack, upon receiving them they felt like high quality units and after two weeks of use in a construction environment they have fared well. Sound quality is good, range is dependent on terrain and weather but so far it has reached as far as 3 miles before we suffer from signal loss. I have since purchased another set of 6 and all of them work perfectly together.
