Had a couple issues right out of the box. Of course Bose and Amazon will take care of anything without resistance so no worries there. In the cockpit it just doesn't get any better. Engine noise even the conversation in the back goes away. I even use them when I'm commuting because it's the best defense against the screaming babies as we're climbing through FL180. Comfort is pretty awesome too, done 8 hours in them with no pain or squeezing feeling. Sets the mark high.
There's little I can say that has not been said yet about this headsets. They are the best headsets in the market. The quality of the ENC is amazing and the quality of the mic too. Even though this headsets are mainly developed with GA and more in particular pistos driven or turboprop airplanes in mind, I use them in the jets I fly. It took me a few days until I got used to talking with the ENC activated. At the beginning it feels like talking with your fingers inside your ears, it is so quite that you hear yourself. After a while you get used to that and one starts enjoying of the best ENC available in the market.
As a student Pilot, this headset really helped improving my progress overall!
And here is why:
1. reduces fatigue and stress, with my cheap ASA Headset, I couldn't enjoy long training weeks (6 flights a week) since the constant noise and clamp force on my head induced a "full/aching head" sensation.

2. as a non native US English speaker, the Radio calls in my training area and at my training airport are sometimes difficult to understand (southern accents and American English in general). I had to turn my Volume to ear damaging levels in order to not miss calls. But now I can easily register and understand ATC Calls with acceptable to non harming sound levels. This improved my overall situational awareness to a level whereas my CFI was very confident to sent me off to solo without causing a traffic mess ;D

3. relax! as a glider pilot I was used to soar and enjoy flying in silence. The BOSE helps you to find this enjoyment since your inner instinct isn't agitated into a nervous alert modus since the constant noise level is reduced!

All in all its still AVIATE, NAVIGATE and then COMMUNICATE but with the BOSE the communicate part is second nature!
you can focus on the more important AVIATE and NAVIGATE part! Im not saying that you will become a top gun pilot with these, but your training will improve a lot!

Still NC level might cancel engine sound to a level where you should regularly check engine gauges in your check flows, since you can't hear the engine "talking to you" and "indicating issues"
I experienced same problem two times from different two products.

When I connect this A20 to AUX source via cable, the headset could not transfer sound perfectly especially on the low-mid range of volume, and base-sound. I found this problem happens when I set it under about 30% of full volume. I compared with other Bose A20 which is owned by my colleague to find out whether or not this is normal situation. It happened only for mine.

So, first time when I had this issue I just returned that to dealer. I ordered new A20 through AMAZON and I got it yesterday. However when I faced same situation again, I thought I could not solve this problem simply via return and order same model. I don't know what I should do any more..
Enough said. If you are wondering what headset to get for flying, then this is the one. Comfortable, fantastic sound quality, especially if you stream your XM while flying, and it has been trouble free. This is my second one for my passenger.. I've had mine for about 5 years and have about 500 trouble free hours. Even after wearing them for 8 hours in a day my ears and head feel fine

Look no further. The Lightspeed and other products might be cheaper, and that's because they simply aren't as great (I've tried many a headset).

Works great! I did not realize that I did not buy the Bluetooth version... at this cost it should have both corded and Bluetooth options in the same unit.
I love this product. The only downside is the price. I got the non Bluetooth option so I saved a little but 995 is quite a hefty price. The pros: the ANR is unbelievable. Very quiet and in my case it does not make the need to hear noises go away ( stall horn, etc...). Some pilots think that this makes it to quiet and you can’t hear the engine. I do not experience this. I am able to hear the vital engine noises that you want to hear and I am unable to hear the loud noises that you don’t want to hear. Overall a great product and would recommend to someone who has the budget.
It took me 10 years to convince myself to drop a grand on a headset. I'm glad I got over the money and I wish I got over it 10 years ago. No clamping pressure unlike my old ANR headset. Crystal clear audio. Amazing technology.
Amazing headset! Super comfy and light weight. ANR is fantastic while still allowing you to hear crucial sound. Overall a fantastic buy. Well worth the investment.
Great headset for aviation
