Bottom line, this product receives 3 stars mainly due to the small/tight fit. I have returned this item and ordered one with an adjustable elastic neck strap instead.
The throat microphone portion of this product was very tight and too uncomfortable for me to wear. I have a 16 inch neck and even at the largest possible extension I felt like I was being suffocated while wearing this for just a few minutes while standing still in my garage. It does not have adequate size adjustments to fit any better. I ordered this product to use with my Midland radios during hunting trips because I wanted a hands free option that was more comfortable than the cheap over-ear headsets that come with the Midland radios. After wearing this for just a few minutes, I could not imagine hiking through the woods with a higher pulse rate and heavy breathing for hours at a time with this thing wrapped tightly around my neck. I acknowledge that throat microphones require firm pressure against your neck to get a clear sound from your vocal cords, but this was more than firm pressure.
The PRO's of this item are that it appears well made, durable, and I like that it has two PTT button options. I would have given it 5 stars if the throat microphone portion had more size adjustments.
The reason I returned this item is that when I plugged it in to my radio it gave a constant talk signal, clogging up the channel with low static or dead air.
Seems decently constructed.
Large talk button has a very nice clip on it.
However, the problem detailed above renders the item practically useless.
Fits walkie-talkies. When I plugged it into the radio, ot gave a constant transmit signal even without the ptt button pressed so nobody could respond.
When i got these I had to try them out quickly. The audio is really clear. You may have to move the throat mic around a little to get the loudest audio. There are a lot of pieces for expansion so make sure to have some sort of bag to carry everything in. There are clips, cables, etc. Everything worked just fine and I even had to contact the seller to make sure my radios would work with this. They were fast in replying with an answer, really great. The throat mic is a large piece of plastic so just beware it does feel a bit funny at first, but you get use to it really quick.
All in all I would get this again and from the seller if they still have some.
Man this will be a game changer. The quality of the product is very high. I also love how the length of the cords are perfect, not too long where you hav exceeds cable. Just enough to have a little slack but not to the point where other things will get caught. I plan on using this when I plan scenario paintball games with my friends. It doesn’t get in the way of the mask nor feel unformatable with the mask on. Also love how big the button is. Makes it really hard to miss when you need are in the moment and trying to communicate
